2026 SUMMER INTERNSHIP
Your Mission
As a Summer Intern, you’ll work side-by-side with our team to design, assemble, test, sell, and fly rocket systems. We’re looking for driven generalists who enjoy variety, learn quickly, and want to play a meaningful role in building a space launch system from the ground up
How You Will Make An Impact

Design, Build, Repeat: Support the design of mechanical parts, wire harnesses, test stands, and flight hardware.

Test Like It Flies: Assist with everything from bench-level checks to full system hot fires.

Solve Problems Fast: Troubleshoot issues, develop quick solutions, and document your work.

Work Across Disciplines: Contribute to avionics, propulsion, structures, software, and integration depending on project needs and your background.

Support Flight: Your contributions will directly advance our mission and flight milestones.
What You Bring to the Team

Enrollment in or recent graduation from a BS/MS program in engineering, physics, a related technical field, or a focus on business development or entrepreneurship.

A strong "get it done" mindset, comfortable picking up a wrench, a soldering iron, or a Python script to solve a problem.

Hands-on experience from personal projects, student teams (rocketry, robotics, Baja, etc.), or prior internships.

Willingness to try new things, take ownership, and ask questions when needed.

Clear communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Bonus Points

You’ve built something that flies, launches, or tackles a complex hardware challenge.

Experience with CAD, PCB design, embedded systems, or hands-on fabrication.

Comfort with tools, test setups, electronics labs, or field operations.

Participation on a rocketry or aerospace competition team.
Internship Details

Duration: 10-12 weeks during Summer 2026

Location: On-site in Colorado (with some hybrid flexibility)

Compensation: LEAP provides a competitive hourly rate that reflects each candidate’s background, technical experience, and project alignment. Our good faith range for this internship is $20 to $40 per hour, with final compensation determined by qualifications.

Working Hours: Full-Time (40 hrs./week)
